Most search engines value .gov and .edu backlinks. These links are so called “authority links” to search engines. That’s the reason why most SEO’s hunt for these kind of backlinks.
Even thought it’s quite hard to get these backlinks. Here are some tips for you to start with:
First, go to Google and try to do the following search:
For .edu domains
“Your desired keyword” “powered by wordpress” site:.edu
This search will help you find blogs that uses WordPress with a .edu domain.
“Your desired keyword “ “powered by vBulletin” site:.edu
This search will help you find forums that use vBulletin. Alternatively, you can replace the word “vBulletin” with your desired forum management program (Like Xoops, Phpbb, etc.)
For .gov domains
“Your desired keyword” “powered by wordpress” site:.gov
This search will help you find blogs that uses WordPress with a .edu domain.
“Your desired keyword “ “powered by vBulletin” site:.gov
This search will help you find forums that use vBulletin. Alternatively, you can replace the word “vBulletin” with your desired forum management program (Like Xoops, Phpbb, etc.)
That’s about it. Just play with the search terms. Hehehehe, use your creativity to find some “authority” links. You’re missing something good if you wouldn’t try this and you’ll realize that it’s all worth it.
Honestly, just about a minute ago, I found a .edu forum that allows anyone to register. Of course, I quickly registered and contributed some things. It’s just a matter of luck and some good Googling ;-)

There is no better tool than keywords to improve the search ranking of your blog or website. If rightly chosen, and used, they can bring traffic to your site.
So, how do you do this? The selection of keywords is not easy. There are hundreds of keywords that net users enter in search engines every minute to locate relevant content.
Your goal is to find these keywords, and place them at the right places on your website. Only then search engines will notice your web pages and display them in their search results.
There are ten easy ways in which you can do this. These are:
1. Finding the right keywords: A good place to start your search is the Google Keyword tracker. It tells you which word or phrase is being searched most on Google search engine.
For instance, if you are writing an article on keywords, then you can enter the word keywords in the search field. Google will instantly show how many times that phrase has been searched globally and locally.
When I did this search, I learnt that the word keyword had been searched 1,830,000 times in the last 30 days. In contrast, the word keywords had been searched 9,900 times while the term keyword tool had been searched 33,100 times and the phrase free keyword tool had been searched 14,400 times.
So, I knew which keyword or keyword phrases I should use.
2. Number of keywords to use: The second question is how many keywords you should use in one article. For this too, you need to take the help of Google Keyword tracker. List the keyword and the four or five phrases that have been searched most often.
These are the keywords or keyword phrases that you should use at several places in your article. Obviously, the keyword that has been searched most often should be used more.
3. Keyword density: The next question is the number of times you should keywords in an article. The broad thumb rule is that the keyword density should not be more than 10 percent – that is if your article has 100 words then the main keyword or phrases carrying the keyword should not be used more than ten times. Otherwise, the search engines will consider it spamming, and blacklist your article.
The other thumb rule is that you should use the keyword or the phrase carrying the keyword once in every paragraph.
4. Placement of keywords: The keywords or the phrase carrying the main keyword should ideally be spread uniformly across the article. It should surely be inserted in the headline, should ideally be in the first sentence, in the first paragraph, be evenly distributed across paragraphs and, if possible, included in the caption.
The keyword should also go in the page title. So, make sure that your headline is also your page title.

It is very easy to set up a website. But how do you bring it to the notice of search engines? There are 4.5 billion websites, and the chances of your site being indexed by search engines are bleak.
Here are five ways to get your site crawled and indexed by important search engines:
1. Focus on the Big Three: There are hundreds of search engines on the net. But the ones that matter are Google, Bing and Yahoo! These search engines power more than 95% of searches on the net. So, in Phase I focus all your attention on the Big Three. Once your sites starts figuring on the Big Three, you can turn your attention to the smaller search engines.
2. Submit your site: All major search engines have a site submission link. This link is generally located on the home page of search engines. Enter the web address of your site correctly, and submit it for indexing. This is the best way of making the search engines become aware of your site.
3. Don’t over submit: You should never make the mistake of submitting your site repeatedly to a search engine. A search engine, depending upon its size, takes six to eight weeks to respond to site indexing request. Repeated submissions don’t improve the chances of your site getting crawled. Instead, you run the risk of getting your site blacklisted if you badger search engines like Google, Yahoo! Or Bing with repeated requests.
The best way to find out if your site has been indexed is to search for your site by entering its full web address like www.easymedia.in. Submit your site again if the search results don’t show your site’s name after eight weeks.
4. Get incoming links: Another way of getting your site noticed by search engines is to get incoming links from already existing sites. The search engine spiders will notice these links, and travel along them to reach your site. The question is how do you get incoming links.
The best way is to seek reciprocal links, especially from sites whose content is similar to yours. The chances are that one or two site administrators may agree if they like your content.
However, be careful in seeking reciprocal links. Never make the mistake of getting links from link farms. You may end up being blacklisted by search engines like Google, Yahoo! Or Bing.
5. Make your site search engine friendly: You must understand that search engine spiders can’t see images or flash content like the way we do. They can only read text or HTML code. If your site is full of images or Flash content then the spiders will not find any content to index.
You should also have a well designed site map. This makes it easy for search engine spiders to index your site properly.

Repeat website traffic is very important for any online business whether it’s monetized blog, e-commerce website or anything else that generates income for you. Sometimes generating an initial traffic becomes much easier than maintaining that tempo of the traffic and keep them bringing back to the website next time.
These are 7 ways I could figure out that helps to bring repeat traffic to your website or blog.
These are my favorite 7 methods to bring repeat traffic:
1. Be regular in your posts and make it look like that you follow some schedule. That automatically alarms the visitors that liked your article last time, about the time for post. Creating such schedule will not only help you grow your blog but also shows your visitors how keen you are on updating your blog
2. Make it simple for a visitor to become a regular reader by adding a link to your primary page with a “Book Mark” or “Add this site to your Favorites” script. Most of the readers keep on pulling the websites from their favorite folders. I can certainly gauge the world from my experiences here.
3. “Recommend this post or blog to a Friend” really works to attract more customers and make them repeat customers eventually. This link not only sends mail to the new users but most of the times has option to send a copy to the send himself. If I refer some article to my friend, I make sure that I keep on checking the blog for newer article to refer or just see what’s updated at my favorite blog that I referred articles from.
4. Your blog or website will make a mark on someone’s mind if it’s properly branded. When the reader think about your blog, they should be able to imagine some photo, figure, colour or logo. This will create a presence and feel for your customers and visitors that they are at your site. If you have your website’s or blog’s favicon developed using your logo, that would be great. If you check my website, it has a favicon of Colourful A B C D that says “Learn A B C D of making money online” here :).
5. Sending unsolicited emails to your mail subscribers if the list is maintained separately! This should be the least expected thing from your for your readers. Give them options to opt out from mailing list for every mail you send to them. Be sure you honor their request and take them off the mailing list. Your readers will certainly not come back if you continue to flood their email box with mails they never wanted in their inbox.
6. Optimize the blog post pages for search engines in such a way that, the product or subject you were talking about in the blog post, if searched your blog post should be appearing in first two pages of search engine. I use this tact many times for the site bookmarks I misplaced and just remember few keywords related to that website.
7. Be excellent in the spelling and grammar used in your blog post! We had talked about this in details in past and most of the readers have found that blog post really useful that many of them started using the tools suggested by me. Use any spell check tool as mentioned in my previous post, but make sure that your post is completely spelling mistake free.
It would be exciting to know your ways to get repeat traffic.

So, you’ve heard about em, wondered, tried them not sure. Article Directory Submissions. So what is it and how does it work and does it work
1) What is it
Its the process of writing useful content and submitting that content to other websites called article directories. These websites have content or ‘articles’ from many many other submitters. Some are crappy and let just about anything go and others are human edited. Some allow links, others do not. Some get indexed some do not.
2) So, how does it work. #1 See if the site has PR. Is it indexed? Do they allow any links to your site? Are they nofollowed?
3) Lets say you have good answers to these. So you write an article and post it to it. If its a good site it will get indexed quickly and you’ll get a link vote. How much value depends on the integrity of the article site.
Should you use them? Yes and No
Yes if its a fairly new site or a weak backlink strucutre. They are links and every link counts from good sites. How much it counts depends on the competitive nature of your industry.
